Day 52 ~ The Power of Touch

At 7:40 this morning, I thought I wasn’t going to make it through the day.
I was late to set up for the presentation I was giving. I was late for my colleagues who were waiting for the registration materials I was bringing. When I got to the registration table and saw the state of the aforementioned materials as I put the container down, I almost blacked out.
What saved me was the touch of a friend’s hand.
She said, “Leave this stuff with us. We got it.”
My colleagues all looked at me and said, “We got it. Go get your program started.”
The day looked different at 7:43. At I headed out to my classroom, I felt the weight of three city buses drop off my shoulders.
The program was wonderful; I was on a total high.
The rest of this beautiful sunny day rolled right out after that; the impact of the program stayed with me all day.
The funny thing is, as I wrap my up my day, my perspective has changed. The program high is fading to a warm glow and something else remains constant in its impact.
It’s the power of that touch and the support of my friends.

    • Thank you, John! It was truly an awesome experience for me, too. And it is always a pleasure to have you in my audience ~ thank you for taking the time to tell me about your three “aha moments” too. You made my day.

  2. Great story! It is truely an inspiration.

  3. Maia,

Thanks so much for the mention on the BLOG. It’s me who should be thanking you for the opportunity to participate in such an exciting event. Your presentation was so informative and powerful! I left totally jazzed!

P.S. – Thanks for the book, almost through it!

    • It really is a circle, isn’t it, Dumont? Thank you for your lovely comment. I’m so happy you’re enjoying my book! I’ve only recently come to realize that writing it (and it was my first one) actually started me on this road to Powerful Presence. And there’s another circle!
