Day 53 ~ The Power of Inspiration

Today I steeped myself in inspiration.

Yesterday’s program was a door-opener for me; it motivated me to take what I’m doing to a higher level. It prompted me to ask myself, “What if this is just the beginning?”

Inspiration feels like a ladder to me, a ladder than stretches out past where my eyes can see below and above. That I have the privilege of inspiring others is a gift. I’m also clear that I am simply following in the footsteps of those who inspired me. How can I continue to climb, to be pulled forward by those who travel ahead of me?

I found a lot of things that inspired me and delighted me on youtube today. I find the same kind of thing when I am watching the videos on TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design; www.TED.com). I’m always looking for things that will take my breath away and motivate me to spread my own wings even more.

At the top of my list right now is a video a friend sent yesterday. You can see it at here.

I spent a few hours this afternoon with this video. In the process, I looked for every available video about Stacy Westfall and her beautiful horse Roxy.

There is something so gorgeous about their skill, their courage and their trust of each other that it completely blew me away. I couldn’t stop watching it. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Stacy said that this 6 minute routine took them over 8oo hours to achieve: riding 5 days a week in over three years of work.

Listening to Stacy put what I am doing into perspective. Watching them reminded me that if you can believe it, you can achieve it – and that you bring about what you think about.

That ladder stretches up in front of me; I know exactly what I have to do.
